Company History

Connetix Engineering, Inc. (CEI), formerly Conley Engineering, Inc., was established in 1974 as a full service electrical engineering consulting firm specializing in providing power, control, signaling, and software engineering services to civil engineering firms, municipalities, industry, and institutions in the northwest and nationwide.

Projects are staffed with in-house personnel encompassing several areas of expertise including power distribution engineering, lighting system design, educational facility specialized systems engineering, communications engineering, instrumentation and control engineering/ software engineering, SCADA application development, computer aided drafting and other specialties. Staff personnel currently consists of ten engineers, five of whom are registered professional engineers (PE), two RCDD Registered Communications Distribution Designers, two CADD designers, one senior SCADA technician, two CADD (computer aided design/drafting) technicians, and three administrative office support personnel. Staff qualifications include BICSI RCDD and NTS specialists, HMI graphic software expertise including Aveva InTouch, Inductive Automation Ignition, Rockwell Automation FactoryTalk View (Network and Site editions), and conventional power and lighting design expertise.

CEI’s major areas of expertise include civil works electrical, control and SCADA system engineering, power distribution engineering, interior and exterior lighting systems, communication/network systems (data, voice, video, etc.), and signal systems (sound reinforcement, nurse call, access control, etc.).

Projects in the Northwest have included electrical power, lighting, instrumentation and control, signal, and communication/network systems design for municipal, state and federal facilities, schools (K-12 as well as collegiate), and irrigation distribution systems. Projects on a nationwide basis have consisted of industrial projects for power generation and distribution, process control, and communications/networks and software application development.

CEI has designed electrical and process control systems for several major civil works in the Central Washington area. CEI has designed extensive SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems) for municipalities including systems utilizing hardwire, fiber optic, radio, leased line, and other types of communications media encompassing both on-site and wide area network systems.

CEI is equipped for design, testing, and analysis of electrical and communications systems using modern, high technology systems and equipment. The firm has a fully computerized office facility which includes several CAD systems and engineering workstations, peripheral devices such as plotters, laser printers, and scanners, and conventional engineering office equipment. In addition, the firm has digital oscilloscopes, digital testers, computerized data acquisition systems, conventional recorders and test indicators, megohmeters and other associated field test equipment for investigation and testing of electrical/communications systems.
